Essex Schools’ Mini Hockey Tournament

On Thursday 28th February, the Essex Schools’ Mini Hockey Tournament took place, with the boys playing 7 games against other schools from the county. The boys started really well, playing controlled well structured hockey. As the tournament progressed the team became stronger and stronger. We won all our games, not conceding a single goal in the tournament. We now travel to Gresham’s next week to represent the county at the East tournament.

On the same day, the U11 girls also travelled to Redbridge to play in their Essex Schools' Mini Hockey Tournament and were crowned Essex Champions. The girls had a fantastic day, scoring 22 goals in total. The girls showed real maturity in the way they played the tournament. They strung their passes together, moved off the ball to support each other and took their chances in front of goal. The defence was excellent throughout the day and they didn’t concede a single goal. A huge thank you to the girls for all the effort they put in, not only on the day but also in training every week and for doing it all with a huge smile on their faces.
