Boys' U11 v Orwell Park

U11 A v Orwell Park. Drew 2-2
We made a somewhat shaky and nervous start, allowing our opponents to dictate the passage of play and exposing our defence, scoring an early goal. As the first half progressed we started to put together some passes and created some chances in front of goal. The second half was tight and well contested with both teams showing some good flowing hockey. We drew level with a crisp shot from Oliver B but again some lack defensive work allowed Orwell to go ahead. With some skilful movement and good tackling we took possession of the ball, worked it into the opposition circle and managed to move the goal keeper to allow Rory A to score, levelling the game near the end. Some work to do on organisation and movement, however a steady start.

U11 C team v Orwell Park C: Drew 2-2
A close match, in which we edged ahead in terms of pressure, and a goal scored by Samuel W to go 1-0 up at half time. More pressure led to a second goal from a determined Thomas Gilbert, but then defensive lapses let Orwell Park in to score two goals in the last quarter, to draw the match.

U11 D team v Orwell Park D: Won 5-0
Good, determined play and speedy breaks led to goals from Ethan W (3), Sebastian M-M and Oscar M. Well played boys!
